Subject: Scalia's egregious err ... falls on You - the Commoner
I wrote the following which originally had no motive but written expression and concluded with a want to show the public how the Supreme Court is disserving us by allowing, no perpetuating-our ignorance.
The indirect lessons from my travels has given me perspectives that compel a clearer voice. The following has been borned from this clearer voice which I am sure represents a better awareness. I hope to publish this opinion to as many people possible and willing.
Scalia's most egregious err
Justice Scalia reasoned that America would be miseducated if the Supreme Court were nationally televised or publicized. This to me is the most egregious error of man. Assuming the worst. Assuming evil's use of the Court as a medium between their evil agenda and the ignorant masses is an acknowledgement of evil's reign over good. Justice Scalias argument that "100,000 people would see about 50 seconds" would be controlled and spun with twists of evil is an ASSUMPTION I am not ready to accept. And so while it may be true, I hope nothing but the worse for the reality and vitality of Scalia's hypothesis. I hold Scalia to be such an important man in Law, thus my life, I hope that in his heart was a noble motive. This motive simply 'to state such a flawed assumption so blatant and ludicrous - which if argued by me would be less efficacious to Democracy, but if argued by a Commoner who made the World aware - with a motive opposite of what I say to the public, not think in private. What I say and think right now are the same, I lie not. I am in a land governed by the United States Constitution--the backbone of the legal system in the United States. The backbone behind that (U.S. legal system) lies not the Constitution, not the Supreme Court, not it's Justices, rather one idea of EQUALITY. Without this thing of EQUALITY, members of GOVERNMENT appear as agents of destruction and evil. EQUALITY lets a man like myself argue with Justice Scalia on the same ground, with the same deference and dignity as is expected to all of mankind. Justice Scalia's assertion that the Court's law is only worth witnessing and watching by Lawyers brings me great confusion. Scalia surely isn't viciously elite, however his words allow for the Elite class who 'cares about law' and the Other class who 'questions not, rather follows only.' Within them, the Other class yearns to understand. I know this, for I am one of the Other class. Allowing the daily dissemination of the Courts procedures of 300 million Americans would benefit our legal system. This conclusion I hold will not waver, for it is founded not on fact or fiction, rather faith in our Nation. Of this faith - equality, transparency, and prosperity--teach me greatness can be done when man is presented with that valuable selection on what is right and what is wrong. It is right to show me your ways Oh Supreme Court, it is wrong to keep me in the dark. The man confined to a wheelchair in Anchorage, Alaska ought to be afforded the same luxury - no right - as the man who lives in Tyson's Corner to see, everyday, with great clarity - a limitless account of Oral Arguments within the Supreme Court. Justice Scalia, it is not your decision, the Supreme Court belongs not to you, but to me, you, and them. Tradition justifies Scalia's assertion, not EQUALITY. When the Supreme Court says yes to open doors and no to television, hardly if ever, do they recognize the greatest hypocrisy so absurd to our country's spirit. Our Court who we expect to protect and serve our interests has made open declarations to keep us in the darkness of ignorance, away from the Truth that all of man seeks.
